Usage of Google Fonts
« on: June 09, 2019, 11:08:21 AM »
I am interested to use google fonts in our Etano

Example
Quote
<link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Roboto&display=swap" rel="stylesheet">

That is to the complete site.  Shall i use in such a way ? or should i keep up the font folder of font-awesome as i am using bootstrap theme.

What are the precautions should be taken care.  Suggestions appreciated.

Font Awesome is typically just used for adding symbols or icons, not font styles.

How to implement a google font largely depends on how bootstrap has been implemented and being utilized in the template, which can be done in a variety of ways.

For example in my responsive templates I added a google font at the top of the bootstrap.css page to make it site wide like so ...
Code: [Select]
@import url("https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Open+Sans:400,700");
But in your case it may be implemented differently in which case you'd need to go through the the css files looking for clues, and also the html files, usually the index.html frame.html and frame_general.html files which may be added like you mentioned.

If you can't figure how it works you may have to try doing some research by searching on how to implement google fonts or try contacting the developer of your template to see if they'd be willing to assist you.

Thanks to Mr. Maverick

I added the below codes in  def/styles/common.css  and in my own theme css def/styles/styles.css

Quote
@import url('https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Roboto&display=swap');
@import url('font-awesome.min.css');
body{font-family: 'Roboto', sans-serif;}

This worked our for me and it looks nice.

Thanks again
