errors with cache and now no users in searches
« on: November 02, 2017, 12:05:00 PM »
I had some issues with a server, and lost the cace, cache2 folders, regenerating the skin produces hundreds of errors, listed below.
Does anyone have any idea whats gone wrong?

First, make sure that the cache2 folder exists and ONLY contains the default index.html file. It doesn't need to have all the old folders and files, in fact it's recommended that you occasionally clean out the cache2 folder as mentioned in the documentation:
http://www.datemill.com/etano/wiki/doku.php?id=managing_your_etano_site

When you regenerate the skin it will create the proper folders and files again. This is what regenerating your skin technically does, creates and/or updates the cache in the cache2 folder. But it won't work if you don't have the cache2 with the index.html file. If you uploaded old folders and cache files to the cache2 folder, it can cause errors, especially if they contain cache of members that no longer exist.

As for other errors, also make sure that the includes/classes/fileop.class.php file exists.
