Youtube addon fix for https
« on: March 14, 2016, 12:50:09 PM »
I had to make a change to my Youtube addon code because I found out that my videos disappeared. I don't know if it's because I switched my site to SSL encryption (https) or if it's because Google changed their site to SSL encryption.

If you're having this problem, then here's what you can do to fix it.

Go to your root directory /includes/classes/fields/09field_youtube.class

In this file, go to lines 20-22. Change the code from
Code: [Select]
<param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/__PARAM1__&rel=0"></param>
<param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param>
<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/__PARAM1__&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="435" height="353"></embed>

TO:

Code: [Select]
<param name="movie" value="https://www.youtube.com/v/__PARAM1__&rel=0"></param>
<param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param>
<embed src="https://www.youtube.com/v/__PARAM1__&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="435" height="353"></embed>

A note to Maverick, do you think it's necessary to change this in the current addon to a version 2.0?
If you see that I'm logged in forever... it just means I turned the page on my browser and forgot to logout.

It must have something to do with your site now being SSL encryption (https). My videos still worked for me on my test site even after adding a new video, and then afterwards made the HTTPS changes to the code which also worked as well, so both ways worked for me.

Just to make sure it works for everyone I changed the code to HTTPS in the youtube field mod available in the download repository.
