Hi KHDev,

Great job with the Deano theme. Looks great on all devices!

I have this question...
In "my settings" I'm trying to hide the "default date format" and "date and time format" fields using the following css rules:
Code: [Select]
#def_user_prefs_date_format {
display:none;
}

#def_user_prefs_datetime_format {
display:none;
}

I found this one in a topic from 2013
http://forum.datemill.com/index.php?topic=3594.msg16251#msg16251

But this works only for the text fields in the <dd> tag but not for the label inside the <dt> tag.
I regenerated the skin after i make changes but nothing seems to work.

Is there another way to hide those two fields?

Thanks in advance,
Dieter

Hi Dieter,

You will need to edit the my_settings.php file to generate custom classes so you're  able to use css to hide those options completely.

Open yoursite > my_settings.php

Code: [Select]
<?php

// Around line 47 find this:

$loop[$i]['config_diz']=$kv['config_diz'];

// Now below it add

$loop[$i]['custom_class']=$config_option;

And save.

Now in skins_site > def > my_settings.html

Code: [Select]
<?php

// Find this block

<!--loop name="loop"-->
<dl>
<dt>{loop.config_diz}</dt>
<dd>{loop.field}</dd>
</dl>
<!--/
loop name="loop"-->

// Change it to

<!--loop name="loop"-->
<dl class="{loop.custom_class}">
<dt>{loop.config_diz}</dt>
<dd>{loop.field}</dd>
</dl>
<!--/
loop name="loop"-->

And save.

Now in skins_site > def > styles > my_settings.css

Code: [Select]

dl.datetime_format, dl.date_format {
display: none;
}

And that should be it :)

In the mobile menu, we must add "cursor:pointer" in the css :
Code: [Select]
@media screen and (max-width: 760px)
#mobile_menu {
....
 cursor:pointer;
}

Hi,

Yeah, that's already on my todo list for the next update. :) The next update will see the mobile menu replaced with a  reworked version as i recently reworked it for my new skin im working on which i prefer. :)

So I hate to see your new version, you can see it somewhere?
Otherwise you will put a manually upgrading please ? because the skin file is translated by me and so I did not want to start to translate again
Thanks  :)

I haven't started the updates for Deano yet as im currently working on a brand new skin. Otherthan the changes to the mobile menu theres only minimal css tweaks which I have planned for Deano so  I'll put them in a manual update file when I do them so users can apply the updates easily if they want. :)

Within index.html I've included the following widget/code to show a row of the newest photos just below the headerimage pic. The widget code to display members and user search I've removed.

Code: [Select]
<!--widget="photos(array('mode'=>'new','area'=>'front','total'=>6))"-->
I've realized in that case full-size photos will be loaded and then reduced and displayed as small pics. That procedure affects the page speed very negative.

Instead of loading the full size photos is there an option to use the very smaller thumbnails (same as showing in user profiles) when using the photo widget in index.html ??

Didn't realize before it's an issue with Deano Deluxe so I've asked this question in general thread.

Sure you can use the smaller thumbnails by changing the photo directory in

skins_site/def/widgets/photos/display.html

Think t2  is used. Change it to t1

Thanks so much KHDev for advice,

am using t1 now and changed the specifications in content.css for
Code: [Select]
.list_small li So thumbnails will be displayed in index.html, home.html and photos.html the right way.

Is there a way to make the welcome_header image responsive when viewing from a mobile phone? The welcome message and join now button isn't centered either. Everything else is fitting the media view.

Thanks

Hey,

Try changing .welcome_header and .welcome_description in index.css to :

Code: [Select]

.welcome_header {
    font-size: 16px;
    color: #000000;
    width: 100%;
    background-image: url('../images/headerimage.jpg');
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    background-position: top center;
    -webkit-background-size: cover;
    -moz-background-size: cover;
    -o-background-size: cover;
    background-size: cover;
    float: left;
}

.welcome_description {
    width: 100%;
    margin: 9% 0;
}

That made the image responsive. Thanks. Now I am working on reducing the font too because it overlays the image at 33px font size. Just playing around with it. The join button however stayed in its original position so I am going to center that as well.

Code: [Select]
.welcome_header {
    font-size: 16px;
    color: #000000;
    width: 100%;
    background-image: url('../images/headerimage.jpg');
    opacity: 0.7;
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    background-position: top center;
    -webkit-background-size: cover;
    -moz-background-size: cover;
    -o-background-size: cover;
    background-size: cover;
    float: left;
}

.welcome_description {
    width: 100%;
    margin: 9% 0;
}
.welcome_description h1{
font-size: 25px;
font-weight: bold;
text-transform: none;
margin-bottom: 10px;
padding-left: 25px;
text-align: left;
}
.welcome_description p{
font-size: 16px;
text-transform: none;
margin-bottom: 10px;
padding-left: 190px;
padding-right: 30px;
text-align: left;
}
a.join_welhomelink {
  display: block;
  color: #444444;
  font-weight: normal;
  font-size: 16px;
  text-align: center;
  margin-left: 35px;
  margin-right: auto;
  width: 150px;
  padding-top: 10px;
  padding-bottom: 10px;
  background-color: transparent;
  border: 2px solid #FFFFFF;
}
a.join_welhomelink:hover {
background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.45);
}

One other thing I would like to do is hide the newest members and newest photos section on the home page for users not logged in.

To show certain things to just logged in members use:

Code: [Select]

<!--opt name="tplvars.user_logged"-->

LOGGED IN CONTENT HERE
