How can I change the default search to any age?
« on: August 28, 2009, 01:44:46 PM »
Right now it's set to 75 for the default limit. I want it to have none on the website user side and in the admin side.

These pages and in the admin

Thanks!

In the site admin under "Site Setup" click "Profile Fields" and then click to edit your "birthdate" or "age" field (whichever yours is named).

The field at the bottom named "Default search range:", leave these empty and it should set "ANY" as the default selections. Editing the default ranges here will reflect the defaults in both the user end as well as the admin end.

I get this error:

The start and end ages must not be equal

I would like them to be equal so it would search everything by default.

I see, in the allowed age you need to put actual ages

Yes, in the "Ages allowed from:" fields you need to (and should) add an age range, this provides a minimum and maximum list of ages in which the user can select from. Which is important because these settings not only effects the basic search, but the advance search as well, so if you had no age range at all then there would be nothing in the list that a user could select from when doing an advanced search.

The next fields "Default search range:" sets the default range in which to search if a user doesn't select anything, I found that by not adding anything in these fields sets the defaults to "ANY", which should search all ages within your "Allowed Age Range".
