You don't have to setup all the crons individually, when you installed Etano at the end of the installation process you should have received some information regarding the cron job you need to set which is the “command to be run by cron”.

It should have looked something like this: /usr/bin/php -f /home/your_user/public_html/tools/cron/cron.php .... the path of course would be unique to your system and it's important that you copied and saved that command to use when setting up your cron jobs.

This command basically points to the main cron task file in the folder that runs all your periodic tasks as needed.

*************************************************************************************************************************************

Sorry, I forgot that I hadn't set the permissions properly upon install, so I had a blank screen at the end of the setup process. I went back and set the permissions and then the index page popped up. I guess I missed that step... undecided I will try a fresh install and let you know how it goes.

EDIT EDIT EDIT - 15 Min Later...

Thank you. I reinstalled with the proper permissions this time and it worked fine. Stupid error on my part. angry All is well now. Smiley

Thanks for the tip.

I don't know much about setting up crons jobs in Webmin for Ubuntu but it should be somewhat similar to setting them up in CPanel.

Refer to the documentation for installing Etano and setting up the periodic maintenance task
http://www.datemill.com/etano/wiki/doku.php?id=installation

Also refer to the Webmin documentation for setting up cron commands

:?Is it necessary to manually input all the cron jobs by hand? In the jobs folder there are something like 22 jobs listed... This seems a little excessive for one script. Is it possible to use only some of them? I have been reading all the posts regarding cron jobs and several of them mention only three jobs, but none of the three mentioned exist in this version of DateMill (1.21)

I am running Ubuntu Server 10.04, Apache 2.2, PHP 5 with most mods enabled. I also have Webmin installed (instead of C-Panel).

Currently I am experiencing several glitches in the script which I believe are caused by no cron jobs being enabled at this time.

Can someone give me some guidance regarding this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Well done Maverick.
The templates are excellent and the instruction manual is first class.
This is the kind of development that Etano needs.
Keep up the great work - now that Dan has turned his back on Etano and its loyal customers, we need your expertise more than ever.

For several years people have been requesting templates for Etano.

After more than 8 months of development I finally managed to complete some templates. There's 4 basic styles available to choose from. Each template has some new or enhanced features and also comes bundled with options and extra images and buttons that allows you to customize the look and feel of your site.

Each template comes with a comprehensive instruction manual in HTML format to make it easy to view and follow. It includes step by step detailed instructions for installing the template as well as editing and customizing the basic elements of your template.

I just downloaded the Playlist.com plugin and installed it on a test site and it doesn't seem to completely  install properly, for one the field class doesn't get installed in the includes folder.

You'll have to wait for the developer to visit the forums and notice this thread and maybe he'll fix the plugin.

Ahhh ok thanks for reply now at least i know there is problem with the plugin, hope the developer will try to fix this iusse & hope then someone will let me know..

Many thanks Maverick once again for your quick response.

Hi Maverick,

I would like to have a discussion out of the forum.

I take it you are the admin for this system and can see my email address, would it be possible to send me an email directly?

All the Best
Mike
