Hi Admin
            My question is
Will the migration script overwrite the defaults ??
As my default in BSD2 is set to Australia with Australian towns I removed all the American ones  :D

  Cheers

The script maps old country IDs to new country IDs and it doesn't care how many countries you still have in the $accepted_countries array. So you can have only Australia as long as you kept the same country ID, countries will be mapped ok.
But it only maps the states for country ID 1 (which was US in DSB) from old indexes to new indexes.
So you will either have to change the migration script to work with your values or pay us to change it.

Hmmm
well i only changed Australia for US
$accepted_countries=array(""._ANY_=>'Anywhere',"1"=>"Australia" "14"=>"United States",

$accepted_states[1]=array(""._ANY_=>'Any',"1"=>"QLD","2"=>"NSW","3"=>"ACT",

add i removed all states that were not Australian

so if it maps counrty id 1 states then it should be okay ??? as country 1 is Australia  :D

It maps original US states to the US states we have in Etano so it's not ok. If you run it unmodified you will end up with all members in various states in US.
Your australian states must first be entered into Etano db then values mapped between the 2 then the migration script run.

okay
So then if left unmoded would all members end up in USA and whatever state ?? if thats all that would happen then members could fix that for one months free membership  :D
And have already Added states to Australia in Etano

The migration script is now available as an update.
The minimum version required to run it is 1.07 so head to the Package Manager, update to 1.07 then check for updates again and you should see "DSB to Etano migration script" in the list.
Let me know if the script works ok for you or if you have any problems with it.

Hi Keith
did you give your etano database user permission to access the DSB database..
This is done from your MySQL Databases from your site admin panel

Add User To Database
  User:  yoursite_etanouser
  database: yoursite_DSB
Then click submit

Next set the privileges

Manage User Privileges
 User:  yoursite_etanouser
database: yoursite_DSB
i just put a tick in ALL PRIVILEGES
Then click Make changes

Without these changes you wont get passed step one
cheers

haveachat is right. The 2 sites must be on the same server, share the same database and the Etano db user must have at least read access to the DSB database. This should be listed on the first page of the migration script above the place where you enter the baseurl for DSB.

I have one slight problem, im using plesk 8, it wont let me add my etano user to the dsb database
It states the user already exists

I will try installing into the dsb database

Yeah, install them in the same db and use the same user / pass. But it would be wise to remove the DSB tables when you go live with Etano to not load the db unnecessarily. Or separate them again.
