We've found a problem with the database backup script in v1.10. Please use another utility to backup your database and don't rely on the built in database backup script. If your server control panel provides phpmyadmin you could use its export function to do the same job.
This problem will be fixed in v1.11
Related to this problem: if you downloaded the full Etano package during the last 24 hours you probably got it with a broken database and you will be unable to install it (the initial database dump was taken with the built in backup script).
Simply download the package again if needed - it is fixed now.
